Scientists from Swansea University’s chemistry department have found a way to turn plastic waste into hydrogen.
The process involves adding a light-absorbing material to the plastic, placing it in a solution, and placing this all in sunlight.
Dr Mortiz Kuehnel, one of the chemists from Swansea, suggests that this process could be cheaper than simply recycling plastic. Even better, any plastic can be used for this new process. Not all plastics can be recycled.
