In the run up to the Olympics next year, Japan has made a special effort to modernise, build, and upgrade. The Japanese Prime Minister, Shinzo Abe, wants Japan to become a “hydrogen society”.
Hydrogen vehicles aren’t the only big feature. Hydrogen will provide the power for the Olympic Village, called Harumi Flag.
Panasonic will build the hydrogen fuel cells required to supply electricity to the 18 hectare site with 5,362 apartments.
The project is intended to be an example for a hydrogen-powered future.
